The book is the collection of many experiences gained during an entire career that has seen Mario Ancillotti in the most diverse activities as a soloist, chamber musician, orchestral player, teacher, organizer, director: all activities that derive from a never-satiated thirst for knowledge in the immense field of music.

From these the part dedicated to the secrets of interpretation and listening was born and founded, with practical examples accompanied by performances by Ancillotti himself; subsequently we move towards the more technical and instrumental part, and then towards the precious suggestions that the experience of a flautist and eclectic musician has dictated to the author. Always in the awareness that music is sublime art but escapes any rigid prescription and that everything is determined only by "good taste" achievable only with study and sacrifice. Finally, the work presents a reasoned repertoire full of indications, also personal suggestions on all those pieces that are fundamental for the musical and technical training of every flutist who wants to become an interpreter of this investigative and revealing art of the emotional sphere.
